Here at Saint Mary’s Magdalene, we recognize the need for solid youth work provision for our young people. We believe that through our youth work provision we are able to have an active role in shaping the lives of many disaffected young men and women to become better citizens and leaders for the future.
This is a safe space for young people in school Years 6-9 (Age 10-14) to meet new friends, build confidence, social and life skills and have fun. Young people are able to participate in various activities such as:
Wednesday Session (Time 6pm - 8pm)
Primarily for young people in Year 10 (Age 15+) and above. Activities vary each week depending on the young people’s request. We provide and listening ear to the young people but also allowing them to be responsible by leading the sessions. Our highly qualified staff and volunteers offer support in a variety of areas ranging from careers development, Information Advice (IAG) and Guidance, Mentoring, Bible Studies personal development, CV, job hunting and family issues such as conflict resolution etc. If we can’t help we will always point you to someone who can.
We know how important and difficult it is for parents during holiday time and that is why during the school holidays we run holiday club. These projects vary and include, swimming, cookery, rowing, team building exercises and other day trips.
