The desire of the congregation is to better serve the spiritual, social and physical needs of the community. After a careful analysis of the alternative options it became clear that a completely new building was the best way forward.
A single combined worship and community building accessible to everyone would then be able to complement other local facilities. Its emphasis would be on the "whole person" of whatever age and would be open seven days a week. Both community and church activities taking place in one building will reduce the maintenance and running costs since one building is being utilised rather than two. We do not want to use separate buildings for social and spiritual activities - the intention is to respond to needs of the whole person in one building.
